In what could be a bizarre voodoo ritual, a snake is found with its mouth sewn shut

There is the strange, and then there is the bizarre. Firefighters in Florida got the shock of their lives after finding a young snake that had its mouth crudely sewn shut using strings.
A family discovered the distressed snake near their home and called in firefighters, who then called a snake handler, Mr. Mullin. Mr. Mullin identified the snake to be a ball python.

Mr. Mullin said that ball pythons are popular pets because they are docile. However, in this particular case, it certainly had not been treated as a pet.
He said the sewing shut of the snake's mouth was truly a bizarre act that could only mean one thing—a voodoo ritual.
It is thought that this voodoo ritual involves someone writing the name of a person they wish to curse on a piece of paper, inserting the paper into the snake's mouth, and then sewing it shut.

Whether true or not, it is an act of animal cruelty.
Luckily, the little snake had the strings removed and was treated for a possible infection.
