It was gathered that Oboro was in a bush at Ozalla in the area when the unidentified Fulani herdsman approached him and gave him a deep cut on his back shoulder with his machete, before cutting off his five fingers.
According to Vanguard, the victim is now at the UNTH. Three of his fingers were cut off from the right hand while two were cut off from the left hand.
“We were at the market square at about 1.30pm when we were alerted that Oboro was attacked by an unidentified Fulani herdsman in the bush. When we rushed there, we saw Oboro in serious pains as his five fingers had been cut off apart from the deep cut on the back of his shoulder.
“However, Usman was immediately rescued together with another Fulani who was released to go home, while Oboro and Usman were taken to hospital for treatment,” the police sources said in Enugu, yesterday evening.
