The skin is the largest body organ with plenty of important functions. It protects the body from harmful microbes, and thus prevents infections. Furthermore, the skin holds the fluids in the body and prevents dehydration. Another function is to produce vitamin D which is important for health.
However, most people suffer from some skin issues at some point in their life. Lifestyle changes or imbalanced hormones are the main culprits for this. Common skin issues include moles, warts, blackheads, skin tags, and age spots.
Fortunately, there are ways to treat these skin issues completely naturally without spending a fortune on expensive cosmetic products.
1. Natural Remedies for Treating Moles
Moles can appear anywhere on the skin. They are brown or black skin growths which are normally harmless. Clusters and pigmented cells cause moles.
Apple Cider Vinegar
If used on a regular basis apple cider vinegar is very beneficial for treating moles. All you need to do is dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and press it on the mole, then put a bandage over it, and keep it for an hour. Use this remedy once a day, for 10 days, and your mole would be gone.
Baking Soda with Castor Oil
Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with 3-4 drops of castor oil until you get a gummy structure. Before bedtime, apply this mixture on the mole and secure with a bandage. Wash the area in the morning.
Garlic
Take one garlic clove and slice it. Before going to bed place it on the mole. And again, put a bandage over it and keep it overnight.
2. Natural Remedies for Treating Skin Tags
Flesh-colored skin growths that hang out off the skin are called skin tags. They might be caused by obesity, and they are common for both men and women. They usually appear around the groin or under the breasts, on the eyelids, or the neck.
Baking Soda with Castor Oil
This remedy can also be used for skin tags. Apply the same procedure as mentioned above. Note that, you can store the mixture in the fridge for 48 hours the most.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Get rid of skin tags in only a couple of days. Just soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, squeeze out the excess, and apply on the skin tags. Hold it as much as you want.
Tea Tree Oil
Soak a cotton ball in water and add few drops of tea tree oil. Apply it on the skin tag and secure with a bandage. Use this remedy 2 to 3 times a day for a month.
3. Natural Remedies for Treating Warts
Warts are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). They are raised bumps that are normally harmless but can sometimes be very painful. Warts can appear anywhere on the body.
Bananas
What you should do is take a banana peel, rub the wart and keep it overnight. Use this remedy for two weeks and your warts will disappear.
Honey
Rub some honey on the wart, place a bandage over it, and keep it overnight. Make sure you use pure raw honey.
Garlic
Rub the wart with one crushed garlic clove and place a bandage over it.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, apply on the wart, secure with a bandage, and leave it to stay overnight. Replace the cotton ball first thing in the morning.
4. Natural Remedies for Treating Age Spots
Age spots are also known as dark spots. They are discolored patches and normally appear on the hands, forearms, and face. Aging liver and sun exposure are the main culprits for age spots.
Lemon Juice
Mix lemon juice with a little bit of water. Soak a cotton ball in the mixture and apply it on the age spot.
Aloe Vera
Apply fresh aloe vera on the age spot and keep it for half an hour. Use this solution twice on a daily basis for a month.
Onions
Dip a cotton ball in one blended red onion. Then, put it on the age spot and keep it for 10-15 minutes. At the end, wash with warm water.
5. Natural Remedies for Treating Blackheads
Blackheads are caused by clogged skin pores, which are a result of too much oil production on the skin. They are not dangerous or painful but make your skin look unhealthy and unappealing.
Sugar Scrub
Mix lemon juice with sugar until you get a texture that is similar to a paste. Take a washcloth and rub the paste on your skin. Then, use water to wash well.
Steaming
First, clean your face. Then, cover your head with a towel and place your face over a pot of boiling water. Stay like that for a few minutes. Afterward, use warm water to wash your face.
