Some women are praying to God day and night for the fruit of the womb, while others are busy aborting or throwing their baby away either in a pit latrine or refuse dump.
A woman has been arrested by the police for allegedly throwing her newborn baby in a pit toilet in Zaki Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue state in the early hours of Sunday, March 19. The baby miraculously survived after neighbours heard the child crying from deep inside the pit and quickly rescued him. The woman is currently in police custody.
