Although Valentine's day is all about the celebration of love, you should not let the love-in-the-air mood push you into making the biggest mistakes of your life. Being single on Valentine's day is not a big deal, it should not make you organize a pity party that will allow you wallow in mystery.
There are lots of people who feel incomplete because they do not have a partner that will spoil them or make the day red. What happened to spending quality time with your family members who are always concerned about you? Having a man to dote over you on Valentine's day is not the only way to spend the beautiful day.
Love is not limited to men and women playing romance, it involves children, widows and the older folks. Do something different this season of love and see how fulfilled you will be afterwards.
Here are things you should never do if you don't have a partner:
1. Flow with the tide
If you do not have a partner to take you out on this special day, make up your mind not to flow with the tide. Be decisive, make your own rules and abide by them.
On this note, do not spoil your friends' special time by tagging along and ruining their dates. Be your own woman and you will appreciate the peace that comes with doing this.
2. Do not make love to a stranger
Men would not have the opportunity to play with your emotions if you do not give them the chance. You will be sending the wrong signal to a man you have never gone out with by agreeing to go out with him on Valentine's day.
Be classy and respect yourself as a lady. No gift is worth the trouble. You will probably wake up the next morning feeling miserable.
3. Pretend to be happy when you are not
You will be making one hell of mistake by feigning happiness when you are feeling terrible within you. Before the day comes, sit down and come up with some strategies.
Make mental note of the things that can give you utmost joy on that day and make plans to do them. Do not rely on anyone to make that day beautiful; only you can hold the key to your happiness.
4. Send your ex a message
What in God's name are you thinking? You are most likely to get played on if they ever respond. If they are smart, they understand you are in a cozy mood and need to get fired up.
Instead of thinking about your exes, divert your thoughts to things that will add values to your life.
Reach out to the poor and needy, do something for your community, organize a program for the youths in your area and you will feel fulfilled. By doing these, you will be making a positive impacts in the lives of many people.
5. Lose a chance to make money
The world should not stop moving because you are single and it is Valentine's day. Rather than hibernating and going into 'ghost mode' because you do not want people to know you are single, turn the day round and strive to make money from other people celebrating.
If you are creative, let your talents fetch you money. You can bake cakes, render services to people who need it, organize events and concerts and make your cool cash.
6. Do not get drunk
It is totally unacceptable for you to drink yourself to stupor on Valentine's day simply because you do not have a val. Listening to Chris Brown's 'With you' in that moment will not make you feel better. Your health should be a priority as being drunk could put you at risk at the long run.
